Our bird hunting safaris offers excellent opportunities of obtaining a smorgasbord of trophies of the South African game bird species.
We specialize in the following regions but will also cater for any special requests or needs.
Kalahari
In this very specialized dry environment the hunting will take place in early morning from around 08:30 till about 11:00 for Namaqua Sand grouse, Burchells Sand grouse and the Double Banded Sand grouse.
On occasion the Yellow Throated Sand grouse could also present itself, but is an “ uncommon resident ” in the region.
The hunting group will then retire for the morning and enjoy a sumptuous Brunch at the main house; the afternoon will be spent shooting doves until sunset.
Whereupon we will end the day with roasted grouse breasts and other delicacies with a reasonably aged bottle of South African red wine.
It is also possible to combine this bird hunt with the taking of Springbuck and Gemsbuck in their true environment.
Highveld region
This area can certainly boast a very rich diversity in birds, ranging from Water birds to Grassland birds. Most of the hunting will be done over pointers and retrievers.
A wide range of different species is available. Including the following Water & Upland game birds
To be able to enjoy this at it’s fullest extent a minimum of 7 days should be booked for the Highveld region, plains game & or dangerous game can also be added if so desired (Extra days will then be of course required) at normal daily rates.
